The replacement deadlatch is for knob or lever door lock 2 3/4" or 2 3/8" backsets and fits METechs, Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, and many other locks. It is non-handed and works for either left-hand or right-hand door. There are two popular backset sizes for pre-drilled doors. Measure from the handle center to the edge of the door: one size is 2-3/8 inch and the other size is 2-3/4 inch.
